Assisting the natural healing power that resides in everyone.
Shiatsu treatments focus on meridian pathways and specific tsubos (pressure points). It is based on similar principles to acupuncture, using pressure on the points rather than needles.
Techniques include using the hands, elbows and knees to work the body, as well as much gentler touch — always adapted to you.

Tsubos
Specific pressure points along the meridians where Alice applies focused pressure.
What to expect
Treatments are fully clothed and take place on a futon or on the floor. Shiatsu can help alleviate most conditions.

Alice Doherty, Dip. Zen Shiatsu
I have been practising Shiatsu for twenty-five years. I studied at the Bristol and Bath Schools of Shiatsu and have practised all over the world.
Through my own experience of giving and receiving Shiatsu it became clear that there is a direct connection between the wellbeing of mind and body — and that Traditional Chinese Medicine, which Shiatsu is based on, deals very effectively with the human being as a whole, acknowledging the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects that can affect our health.
I’ve been absolutely absorbed by this practice and its concepts — Ki, yin and yang theory and macrobiotics — ever since.

I have been attending Alice’s Shiatsu treatments for over five years and have recommended the treatment to many work colleagues and friends, as it really made a difference.
